AESTHETICS, CARE, AND ECOFEMINISM
What “ecologies”? How is art building other ecologies? Art of caring or caring through art?
Online conference by Yayo Herrero, one of the leading voices of ecofeminism, presenting the lines of work under Care Ecologies cooperative project. Based on her proposals, a dialogue will be opened in relation to the concept of care outlined from the working lines of the Care Ecologies project.
Yayo Herrero is a Spanish anthropologist, agricultural engineer, social educator and one of the leading lights of ecofeminism. Her research has focused on criticising the capitalist development and production model as a threat to the planet and to life itself, research that she combines with activism and collaboration with various media such as eldiario.es
Care Ecologies is a multifaceted project, focusing on various aspects of care, based upon a network of partners working in the fields of artistic production and the promotion of contemporary art, fostering a strong relationship between contemporary artistic practices and social space.
