Part of the George & Aristea Mamidakis Foundation’s mission is to aid lifelong learning and the transmission of knowledge to future generations. For this purpose, and in collaboration with agencies and organizations whose work we support, we implement various educational activities and programs for students, teachers, and guests. Our goal is to raise awareness and bring our local community into contact with contemporary art as well as with its rich cultural heritage.
Inspired by Benjamin’s phrase about the “slow” productive time that leads to a “hidden knowledge,” the program invites high school students and teachers to take part in the “Turtle Walk” in order to get to know works of art at the Scupture Garden of Μinos Beach art hotel in Agios Nikolaos, Crete.
In collaboration with the environmental and humanitarian organization We 4 All, we educated the students of two high schools in Agios Nikolaos on the importance of environmental awareness.

“Wind Stories” was designed and implemented by the winners of the G. & A Mamidakis Foundation Art Award 2019, visual artist Theodoros Zafiropoulos and the architect Giorgos Rimenidis.

The “Summer of Mythology” takes place at bluegr Hotels & Resorts venues in Crete, aiming to teach interesting aspects of our country’s culture to foreign visitors of all ages.
The first educational program for the rescue of the planet from waste was completed this October 2016, with the participation of the students and the teachers of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th elementary schools, in the municipality of Agios Nikolaos, Crete.
