Carlo Ciarli, Light and Shadow (1988)

The artwork «Light and Shadow» was created during the 1st Art Symposium (1988)

For the 1st Art Symposium, the artist Carlo Ciarli (born 1938) created a new installation of the “Light and Shadow” piece, originally presented in his first solo exhibition in 1986. His artistic practice is characterised by the bold use of simple material and intense spirituality. In this piece, using materials indicative of the Mediterranean scene like stone and the colour yellow, the artist created a work in direct dialogue with the surrounding space, a place between light and shadow, with references to the recovery and drastic transformation of the natural landscape by humans, without however trespassing or devaluing it.
