«Untitled» was added to the Foundation’s collection in 2004
Artist Lambros Psyrrakis (born 1962) tries, as he says, through his work to express the complexity of reality while utilizing simple and mundane objects. “Untitled” (2004) exemplifies this approach to artistic creation. The artist uses buttons, an everyday object of no particular value, and creates a new piece with aesthetic and artistic value. This movement is a characteristic practice of the artist, if we consider that Psyrrakis remembers the primordial emotional momentum during critical historical moments and creates new entities from simple and often useless materials. Consequently, for him, what matters is the explosive formation of a new entity and art as a generating process.
