Odysseas Sgouros studied at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (1977 – 1983). Since 1984, he maintains an architectural office in Agios Nikolaos specialising in the preparation of studies for private and public projects. He has been recognized many times in pan- Hellenic and local architectural competitions. He has published his studies in multiple publications and Greek & foreign magazines and has taken part in architecture exhibitions. He is a member of TEE and SADAS-PEA. He has been  President of  the  Association of Architects of the Region of Lassithi (1992 – 2004), member of the Council of Architecture (C. A.) of Lassithi (2012 – 2014) and the Council of Ecclesiastical Architecture of Crete & Dodecanese ( 2015 – 2017 ) . Special advisor in the organization of the exhibition” Crete- 100 years of Architecture and Town Planning” ( 1913 – 2013 ) , Vice President of TEE- TAK (2010 – 2013) and General Secretary (2013 – 2016). He was also a Member of the TEE-TAK & Region of Crete Working Group for the compilation of the Spinalonga file for UNESCO and the Monitoring Group for the registration of 78 historical settlements in Lassithi Province and 20 settlements in Malevizi Heraklion Municipality (2010 – 2015), and Member of the Committee processing positions of the TEE-TAK for the revision of the Regional Spatial Framework (2013 – 2015). He is a columnist for architecture, art & culture in local and national publications.
