The artwork «Mark» was created during the 3nd Art Symposium (1993), the theme of which was «Art in Politics»
In his artistic practice, Hungarian artist Tamas Trombitas (born 1958) uses human creation, natural and spiritual, and combines means of his time. “Mark” (1993) includes metallic cubes which are joined by a pyramidal luminous blue tape and form the letters of the word MARK, without any indication about whether the word refers to a vert or a name. This piece deviates from the typical fragmentation of image, which in this case is reminiscent of excavation findings. The blue light transforms the metal structures into fragments of real experience, while at the same time, revealing the immaterial substance of the piece, stressing its supernatural and spiritual essence.
